Meifu Shinkage Ryu

The Kokoro Academy of Martial Arts is home to the Leeds Keikokai of Meifu Shinkage Ryu. In Meifu Shinkage-ryu (MSR) students are taught various specialized skills in the use of weapons dating back to the Japanese samurai. Many of these skills were considered secret techniques that only the best students in a traditional schools, were taught. Shurikenjutsu In Meifu Shinkage-ryu skills are taught in the use of BO-SHURIKEN (棒手裏剣),FUNDO KUSARIJUTSU. The Kusari Fundo (分銅鎖) it is the second most important weapon taught in Meifu Shinkage-ryu practice. The Kusari Fundo in our school is a steel chain with a weight  at one end and a ring on the other for support. SHOKENJUTSU(掌剣) is the third weapon taught within Meifu Shinkage-ryu.

The present Soke (Head) of Meifu Shinkage Ryu is Otsuka Sensei.
